I am carb addict and my favorite carb is bread. If carbs made you slur your speech or stagger when you walked. I'd need a twelve step program.
However, God has a little more in mind when he speaks of bread.
But He answered and said, "It is written, 'MAN SHALL NOT LIVE ON BREAD ALONE, BUT ON EVERY WORD THAT PROCEEDS OUT OF THE MOUTH OF GOD.'"--Matthew 4:4
Now the real bread of life is Jesus. If we neglect our time with Jesus we are lacking the bread of life.
Then Jesus declared, "I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will never go hungry, and he who believes in me will never be thirsty.--John 6:35
So when we pray like this
'Give us this day our daily bread--Matthew 6:11.
We in fact are asking God to provide us daily with his wisdom for us, from his word. But God isn't going to force you to sit and read. He isn't going to make the bible float across the room and land on your bedside table. We need to commit the time and energy and go after daily bread. I've committed the next 21 days to really get into the word and seek after God. To put aside some other interest that pull me away, but profit me little. I was getting plenty of carbs in the everyday world. Probably too many and wasn't full. I knew then what I was craving no earthy bread could fix. I am craving my spiritual carb. The living WORD the BREAD OF LIFE.
"For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.--Matthew 7:8
Be blessed.

Amen, such a good word. I love bread too but nothing satisfies like the bread of Heaven.
Oh, yes, carbs are comfort food. But for true comfort, eternally, the Bread of Life is for me.
Amen that is a wonderful post, and the bread of life is one I desire daily, it is so much more important than the bread made of wheat. Have a blessed day my friend, and may you be blessed in all you do for our blessed Saviour.
