Analisa

You know the old saying, Give him an inch he'll take a yard? The same can be said of the enemy of the Christian. That old devil Satan.  Give him an inch and he'll will surely take a yard.

Too often we sit back and just manage our lives to the best of our ability.  We don't use the tools and weapons God gave us. When the enemy becomes invasive in our lives we cry out to God.

Lord, I just don't understand why all this is happening to me?

I think it could be the the inch we gave to the enemy. It was that day we got the job evaluation and the increase was poor.  Did we take a stand against the enemy and declare that every need was met and promotion comes from the Lord? That was the inch we gave.

And my God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.--Philippians 4:19

For promotion [cometh] neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south. But God [is] the judge: he putteth down one, and setteth up another.--Psalm 75:6-7

When the doctor said, at your age these things just happen and it's part of your families history.
Did we declare...Not so God made me?  If not then that was the inch we gave.

I will praise thee; for I am fearfully [and] wonderfully made: marvellous [are] thy works; and [that] my soul knoweth right well.--Psalm 139:14

And the LORD will take away from thee all sickness, and will put none of the evil diseases of Egypt, which thou knowest, upon thee; but will lay them upon all [them] that hate thee.--Deuteronomy 7:15.

One time I got ants in my home. At first I would see one and kill it with a tissue and go my merry way. I didn't put down bait traps or use bug spray. I learned later the first ants are scouts looking for a way in. The scout leave a scent trail and send out notice to their ant army of the new base camp.  Soon ants were literally coming out of the cracks. They didn't encounter any real resistance.
That's how the enemy is.  He has his minions working to find a way to steal, kill and destroy. With no resistance he comes in strong and hard. He doesn't care if you just go to the doctor. He doesn't care if you just rework your budget. He only fears when you rise up with the promises of God in your mouth and speak against his attacks with prayer and faith.

So don't give Satan an inch. Make him fight for it.  He will run if you do. Why? Because Dad said so.

Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.--James 4:7
