Analisa

You know when I have the opportunity to see a movie or play about the passion I normally take advantage of it. I've viewed most biblical movies and take them all with a grain of salt. Why?  Because I know enough word and see where certain liberties were taken.  Yet with one film I find the torture and cruxifiction of Jesus to be unflinching in it's portrayal. Yet by the stardard of the real barbaric act, still mild in part.

Most of us couldn't stand to see it as it was. We are a people of ease.  Most of us don't kill and butcher our own food. Watching a human be tortured and nailed to anything is beyond our comprehension. Not an image we want to dwell on. We really never have a true picture but I think we should try to. Because we really need to think of the price Jesus paid. The physical torture, the spritual burden and separation from God.  Then we need to ask ourselves this question.

How can we neglect such a great salvation?

For this reason we must pay much closer attention to what we have heard, so that we do not drift away from it. For if the word spoken through angels proved unalterable, and every transgression and disobedience received a just penalty, how will we escape if we neglect so great a salvation? After it was at the first spoken through the Lord, it was confirmed to us by those who heard. --Hebrews 2:1-4

How can we be so ordinary, so passive, so unmoved? God help us,  so afraid. Afraid to offend, afraid to lose friends, afraid of what our spouse, family, friends and co-workers will think.   How can we neglect our salvation like that.

How can we just roll with the things of the world? How can we be more political than lead by the spirit? How can we voice an opinion that's against the word? How can we take His shed blood for granted?  We didn't shed a drop of blood for our salvation.  Jesus paid for everyone of us.

So now it's your opportunity to return God back to first place in your life. Or maybe to give God the place in your life He never had.  Don't you think it's time to stop neglecting this great salvation that has been offered to you. The word is truly near to you. Just pray and submit yourself to Jesus, the only living God.

...“THE WORD IS NEAR YOU, IN YOUR MOUTH AND IN YOUR HEART”—that is, the word of faith which we are preaching, that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation. For the Scripture says, “WHOEVER BELIEVES IN HIM WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED.” For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, abounding in riches for all who call on Him; for “WHOEVER WILL CALL ON THE NAME OF THE LORD WILL BE SAVED.” --Romans 10:8-13

  2. Whether a 'god' or a man - I find I can't fathom the torture of one who was so gentle in spirit, who loved so, who wanted to bring peace and light and love to people. It's difficult for me to watch movies where this is happening to Jesus - I always cry, and not much makes me cry.

It is hard to imagine the torture our Saviour endured on the cross. I enjoyed reading your blog. I added myself as a follower. God Bless You.
