Are you like me?  Do you forget God's promises because of the severity of your circumstances? I do it more often than I have time to tell.

Challenges like my son doing something I never thought he would. The favoritism on the job and work overload. My best friend's parent's illness, and money, enough said.

When I find myself awake in the middle of the night with all these things stomping around in my mind stealing the sleep and peace I prize. I begin to remember what God has done for me.

That it was God who saved me from two foreclosure attempts. Now my mortgage rate is set at 3% for the life of the loan and my payments are almost a thousand dollars less a month. Me worry over money? I don' think so. Because of a promise.

Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, so that there may be food in My house, and test Me now in this,” says the LORD of hosts, “if I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you a blessing until it overflows. --Malachi 3:10-11

I remember how I was as a teen. How God kept my life, literally. He marked me for salvation and I had the prayers of my mother covering me. I know he has great things in store for my child. Because of a promise.

Train up a child in the way he should go, Even when he is old he will not depart from it.--Proverbs 22:6

At my last administrative job my boss unjustly turned against me. God spoke to my heart and told me not to complain and to watch my facial expressions.  I prayed and this same boss came to me one day at and event. She said, " I don't know what it is but you seem to have a glow on your face all the time". I just want you to know how much I enjoy working with you." This same boss promoted me and gave me 17% pay increase. Because of a promise.

For not from the east, nor from the west, Nor from the desert comes exaltation; But God is the Judge; He puts down one and exalts another. --Psalm 75:6-7

If in any area of your life you feel like the circumstance are against you. Remember if the deck is stacked it's in our favor. Money, illness, being used none of it matters. God is on our side. Even in our imperfections, He is our loving Father and no weapon formed by our own hand or the enemy will overtake us. Because of a promise.

"No weapon that is formed against you will prosper; And every tongue that accuses you in judgment you will condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, And their vindication is from Me," declares the LORD.--Isaiah 54:17

'For I know the plans that I have for you,' declares the LORD, 'plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope.--Jeremiah 29:11

He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him over for us all, how will He not also with Him freely give us all things?--Romans 8:32

And I will bless those who bless you, And the one who curses you I will curse. And in you all the families of the earth will be blessed."--Genesis 12:3

My grandmother and I were just laughing about this--how shockingly short our memories can be. But God is good, not only to give the promise, but to remind us. He is so faithful, even when we are forgetful.

  2. I know I always say this, but you are so inspiring. You know from some of my other comments that I don't feel a closeness to God anymore but when I come here, I feel something tugging at me *smiling* I can see your glow from here on my mountain.

  3. God brought me back here today for a reason. I have been overwhelmed with fear that our circumstances are spiriling down still and I am helpless to stop anything. Thank you for your encouraging words.

What a refreshing word of encouragement. The verses you picked are some of my favorites and so filled with hope and promise. It's good to remember God's faithfulness and provisions because I, for one, have a very short memory.

    Blessings to you!

This is so true. I forget so quickly God's amazing ( amazing for me, He can do anything ) answers to prayers and often He meets our needs before we know we are in need.A very encouraging post. Thank-you.
